Web design is more than just beautiful web elements and pleasant-to-see pictures. It is a comprehensive process of creating a web page that appears compelling to visitors. That is why there are several important basic concepts you need to keep in mind whenever you are designing a website or a web page, and we are going to take a look at them in this article.

The first thing you need to always keep in mind when designing a website is the visitors’ interests. You need to make sure that the page you are designing appeals to the visitors. This means paying close attention to readability, minimizing the use of distracting elements, and ensuring fast loading at all times. When a web page is pleasant to read or visit, it is very easy to attract more visitors.

Next, you also need to make sure that the content of the website is valuable to its viewers and that it is displayed as the centerpiece of the page. You may be tempted to use sophisticated design elements such as Flash animation or dynamic banners, but at the end of the day all that matters is how you can present the content of your site accordingly.

Last but not least, you need to make sure that the page you are designing is compatible with every – or at least most – web browser. You may be able to display a sign that says “Works best with [browser name]” on your web page, but it would be much better to make the page compatible with different browsers from the beginning.
